mooseAurora Wildlife Research is an independent consulting company owned by Kim Poole. Kim has over 25 years of professional wildlife experience in the public and private sectors throughout western Canada, with extensive experience in Northwest Territories/Nunavut and British Columbia. His work focuses on wildlife research & management, and wildlife habitat management & assessment.

Kim has hands-on experience with a host of species, ranging from large carnivores and ungulates, to falcons, furbearers and prey species. Kim’s experience includes 15 years with the Northwest Territories government, and more than 10 years in the private sector.

With an excellent reputation in the scientific community, Kim believes publication of research results is important, and has published over 40 papers in refereed journals. Kim is a Registered Professional Biologist (RPBio) and Certified Wildlife Biologist (The Wildlife Society). He holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Alberta. Specific expertise includes:
